Program Overview
The Future of Agriculture is an interactive classroom program exploring the connections between agriculture, water, land and wildlife in Alberta. Through hands-on activities and real data analysis, students examine the food-water-energy nexus, Alberta’s agricultural land use, and the challenges facing modern farming. The program also highlights innovation solutions in sustainable agriculture, happening right here in Alberta, empowering students to understand and engage with the future of food production in their province!
This program explores Alberta’s need to maintain ecological integrity while helping to feed a growing global population, and is an excellent lens to connect multiple units of science.
