Thank you for joining us on the A+ for Energy professional development program! We hope it sparked inspiration and offered you valuable ideas to enhance your projects for the 2026-2027 school year, bringing energy education to life in your classroom. TRAVEL SUBSIDY INFORMATION
For those traveling greater than 150 km, Inside Education has a travel subsidy of up to $500 to help offset the costs of travel - the subsidy can be used towards flights, car rentals, taxis, and/or shuttles. Travel subsidies must be approved, so please review our 2026 Subsidy Policy. Feel free to reach out for more information!

Forestry in the Eastern Slopes | October 15-17, 2026
Congratulations on your acceptance to Inside Education’s Professional Development Program. Here are all the details you need to help you plan for this one-of-a-kind learning adventure that will inform and inspire your teaching!
Dates, Times and Locations
October 15-17, 2026
The bus will depart from the Double Tree by Hilton Calgary North at 9:30am on October 15. Vehicles can be left here for the duration of the program and must be registered at the front desk of the hotel
The anticipated arrival time back in Calgary on October 17 is 2:45 p.m.
*Inside Education will cover all program costs including meals and accommodations during the program.

Please confirm your attendance by completing this participant details form. This form must be completed by Tuesday, September 22.
Travel Information
Participants are responsible for booking their travel to and from Calgary.
For participants traveling over 150 km, there is a travel subsidy of up to $500 to help offset the costs of travel - the subsidy can be used towards flights, car rentals, taxis, and/or shuttles.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Inside Education will provide accommodations for the program, including the night of October 14, if required for those traveling from out of town. We will be staying at the following hotels:
- October 15 - Mountain View Inn and Suites, 706 Main Ave E, Sundre, AB T0M 1X0
- October 16 - Best Western Rocky Mountain House Inn and Suites, 4407 41 Ave, Rocky Mountain House, AB T4T 1A5
We will be staying in same-gender double occupancy rooms and have limited ability to provide single rooms. You can let us know your rooming preferences on the participant details form.
FOOD
Inside Education will provide all meals starting with a mid-morning snack on Thursday, October 15th through to and including lunch on Saturday, October 17th. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions; please indicate your food preferences on the participant details form.
THE PROGRAM
We have been busy working with some amazing experts in the region to ensure the program provides a comprehensive look at sustainability in southern Alberta.
You can see a simple version of the schedule here. A detailed schedule will be available closer to the program date.
Some of the tours we will be going on require certain equipment. Please ensure that you bring:
- Close-toed shoes
- Long pants
- Long sleeve shirts
Other tours have recommended equipment. If you have access to them please bring:
- Rubber boots - the taller the better!
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
We expect that participants will travel with the group and attend the full program from start to finish, so please plan accordingly. Make sure you know when/where to meet the Inside Education team.
Pack your smile and your suitcase! Check out this helpful packing list for some key things you might want to have with you - we program rain or shine with the exception of unsafe conditions.
