2023 Careers in Forestry Teacher PD

Congratulations on your acceptance to Inside Education’s Professional Development Program. Here are all the details you need to help you plan for this one-of-a-kind learning adventure that will inform and inspire your teaching! 

DATES, TIMES, & LOCATION
October 12-14, 2023

Program Start: Thursday, October 12 - 11:00 am  - Saville Centre, Edmonton

Program End: Saturday October 14 - 3:00 pm - Corbett Hall, Edmonton

*Inside Education will cover all program costs including meals and accommodations during the program.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Participants are responsible for coordinating their own travel to and from Edmonton.

NOTE

*You must participate in the full program to receive the subsidy. 

ACCOMMODATIONS
Inside Education will provide accommodations for both nights of the program in Whitecourt.  Accommodations are double occupancy, unless otherwise specified.

FOOD
Inside Education will provide all meals starting with lunch on the 12th and ending with lunch on the 14th. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, so please indicate your food preferences on the participant details form.

THE PROGRAM
We have a fantastic program laid out for us over these three days where we will hear from a diverse group of experts who will introduce us to a wide variety of careers related to forestry, from research and wildfires to operations and mills!

Pack your smile and your suitcase! Check out this generalized packing list for some key things you might want to have with you - we program rain or shine with the exception of unsafe conditions. We expect that participants will travel with the group and attend the full program from start to finish, so please plan accordingly.

GETTING THERE

Participants are required to make their own way to Red Deer. Participants are able to leave their vehicles at the program start location at their own risk.

THE PROGRAM

CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE

ACCOMMODATIONS
Inside Education will arrange all overnight accommodations on June 1 & 2. Participants can request single or double-occupancy rooms on the participant details form. Participants from the Red Deer Area can let us know on the participant confirmation form if you plan to go home instead of staying at the hotel.

FOOD
Inside Education will provide all meals starting with lunch on June 1 through to breakfast on Saturday June 3. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, please indicate your food preferences on the participant details form.
