Program Overview
Invite your junior high and senior high students to explore local innovations, research, and careers in natural resources with an Environmental Innovation Day!
Innovations Days are a 1-day field trip opportunity to connect your students to what sustainability looks like in their backyard. Choose between a day focused on energy, agriculture, or water, or a combination of multiple topics. Inside Education staff will work with you to create a customized educational experience, designed to enhance curriculum, ground your students’ learning in current events, and work within your bell times!
We have connections to tour locations and expert guests, and a wealth of experience to create a custom program for you! We’ve delivered over 30 Environmental Innovation Days across the province, in a variety of communities and topics for Grades 7-12 students, so we can present you with a selection of schedules based on previous events.
Each Environmental Innovation Day is planned and facilitated by Inside Education staff. This no-cost day will include:
- A workshop led by Inside Education
- Expert-guided site tour(s) or guest speaker(s) highlighting local initiatives in energy, agriculture, or water in your community!
- Any transportation during the program (we will book and pay for buses!)
- Curriculum-connected Learning Resources and lesson plans to use before or after the program
Programs run from November to April and can be half- or full-day, depending on travel and tour length.
Apply by September 30, 2025.
Educators will be contacted by October 31, 2025, with application results and next steps to begin planning your customized Environmental Innovation Day experience!
