Northern & Indigenous Teacher Scholarship
Inside Education believes teachers from every corner of the province should have the opportunity to connect with experts, experience hands-on learning, build new skills, and bring real-world stories back to their classrooms!
To keep our programs accessible, Inside Education’s programs are completely no-cost. Thanks to our generous funders, we cover program accommodations, travel, meals, and tours, along with subsidies that help offset transportation costs to the program’s starting point.
We understand that, for many teachers, the current subsidy may not cover all travel costs from Northern Alberta or from remote Indigenous communities!
Longer travel distances, flights, and additional accommodations often leave teachers covering expenses themselves; this scholarship will bridge that gap.
To ensure equal opportunity for participants across the province, the Northern and Indigenous Teacher Scholarship is available to cover all eligible remaining travel costs, ensuring that financial barriers don’t prevent teachers from participating.
Who Can Apply?
- You teach in Northern Alberta (North of the 55th parallel – Grande Prairie & Area, Fort McMurray & Area, Northeast British Columbia, Peace River & Area)
- You teach in an Indigenous school community within Alberta or Northeastern British Columbia
- You require additional travel assistance beyond our standard subsidy

Thank You to Our Funders For Making This Possible!
