2024 Energy Tool Kit Workshops
Each participating school will receive an Energy Tool Kit to help bring the climate conversation to life in the classroom! All-expenses paid and lunch provided.
These hands-on workshops will highlight technologies and innovations that are shaping our energy future. We will learn from expert guests, participate in local tours and share ideas for making meaningful connections to curriculum using your new Energy Tool Kit resources. The workshops will introduce you to key energy topics and enhance your own understanding of the energy sector, which will enable you to make the most of your kit. We will also have the opportunity to dig into the kit materials and share best practices for using the tools to enhance student learning.
On this no-cost experiential program you will:
- Hear from expert guests about current and emerging energy technologies
- Tour local energy innovation facilities
- Learn tips and tricks for using your Energy Tool Kit
- Network with colleagues
- Access additional energy education resources to support your classroom
The Energy Tool Kit
The Energy Education Tool Kit includes all the materials, activities and lessons adapted from Inside Education’s energy programs to create an immersive energy education experience for your students. This kit is split into 9 topics, each exploring a different aspect of energy. Each topic has an introductory sheet, activities, and opportunities to “consider, connect and learn more”.
The Tool Kit has multiple curricular connections and is best suited for Grades 4-9 but can be adapted to other grades as well. Each kit includes over $350 worth of equipment and everything you need to guide your students through the activities.
This program is open to teachers from across Alberta and Northeast BC. Multiple teachers from the school are welcome to attend the workshop, however, only one Tool Kit per school is available. Note: You must participate in the workshop to receive your kit.

*This session is part of the SWATCA teachers convention, applicants must pre-register and attend the Inside Education session to receive their tool kit. Due to limited availability for the tool kits teachers must apply using our application form and we will let you know your application status prior to the convention!
