Program Schedule!  

A unique full-day experience featuring topic experts, a field tour, and tools to help get your and your students outside!

Each participant will receive an annual k-country pass and a forest exploration kit [best suited for teaching grades 4, 6, and junior high] that has everything you need to head out and explore your community forest.

  • Guide to Common Native Trees and Shrubs of Alberta

This is your chance to spend the day in beautiful Kananaskis Country with Inside Education!

The Jumpingpound Demonstration Forest is a unique working forest that will inspire you to grow forest education no matter where you teach in Alberta.


We will see a working forest in action, hear from experts and learn how to utilize outdoor spaces to make cross-curricular connections to Alberta’s forests and forest sector. We will share ideas for student engagement, including outdoor activities and citizen science and field trip opportunities!

*Program participation numbers will be determined based on current Alberta Health COVID gathering restrictions.

 If you are a successful applicant, Inside Education will provide you with a full scholarship to attend the program.
*Note – all successful applicants will be expected to participate in the entire day (no exceptions).

Teachers from across Alberta are welcome to apply.

 We are hopeful as COVID-19 restrictions ease, learning, and exploring outdoors together will be an option!

  • This program will run rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather! The entire day will be spent outdoors. 
  • On the morning of your program, please complete the COVID self-assessment prior to arriving on-site. If the assessment raises any symptoms or concerns, we ask that you please not attend and contact Inside Education.
  • To reduce the risks related to Covid-19, Inside Education will not be providing any meals or snacks. Please bring all of your own food and drinking water for this program.
