Inside Education field studies operate during May, June, September and October. These full- or half-day programs are available for grades 4-12 at various field sites across the province.
Please refer to our field program FAQ section for more.
2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
Using the best practices, activities and tools from Inside Education’s field trip programs we are putting together a field trip tool kit and works that equip you with everything you need to get outside and explore with your students this fall.
What’s in the field trip tool kit?
The Inside Education team is developing a backpack filled with all the essentials to lead your own field trip. Modelled after our Tools of the Trade Resource that was previously lent to schools, this time it is yours to keep! Along with a full teachers guide you will receive forestry tools including tree ID guides, tree measurement tools, wildlife identification tools, soil test kits and more (value ~$300). Not only will you get it for free we will show you how to use all the equipment and facilitate meaningful curriculum connected activities.
Inside Education is following recommendations from the provincial government and we know that there are no guarantees for field trips at this time, but we want to be ready to take your students outside if we can! With this we are still taking bookings for spring 2021 and have made the following adjustments:
- All cancellation fees are waived
- Busing subsidy increase to $200/day for Fall 2020
- All field programs are no-cost (including Jumpingpound!)
- Increased sanitization protocols and physical distancing in accordance with public health recommendations
As the 2020-2021 school year begins we want to know if you have any insights that will help us support you throughout the year. Please take a moment to complete our teacher needs survey. We know the future is uncertain, but we would appreciate any input you might have so that we can direct our energy where it is most useful to you.
