Catherine Magnan is a hands-on leader and team builder with 25 years of experience working in the oil and natural gas sector. She currently leads Canadian Natural Resourcehttps://www.facebook.com/CanadianNaturals Limited’s Water Technology portfolio. Her team is responsible for developing new water treatment and steam generation technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water use.
Throughout her career, Catherine has led diverse teams in the search for solutions in the areas of capital deployment, regulatory strategy, and technology and innovation. She holds a degree from the University of Manitoba in Civil Engineering and is known for her passion for bringing people together to deliver business results.

Jasveen Brar | Executive Director, Youth Climate Lab

Jasveen (she/her) is a climate educator from the prairies. Her work centres around environmental justice, intersectional environmentalism and ensuring that youth are involved in decision-making. She holds a B.Sc. from Dalhousie University in Biology and Sustainability and has experience working in ocean conservation, polar policy and education.
Jasveen is also the Executive Director at Youth Climate Lab, a Canada-based, global non-profit organization of youth mobilizing youth to create just, climate-resilient futures.
Lisa Pollio | Program Manager, Careers in Energy (Energy Safety Canada)

Lisa joined Energy Safety Canada (ESC) as a Program Manager in 2013, after six years of working in the oil sands region of Fort McMurray. Lisa learned valuable field experience as a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor and then transitioned to a Disability Management role. This hands-on knowledge allowed her to obtain the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
Being part of the Training and Industry Development and Support teams at ESC has enabled Lisa to bring her expertise of our sector to the Careers in Energy group. An adventurer at heart, Lisa loves spending her free time in the mountains or travelling to different parts of the world with her family.
David Huggill | Corporate Sustainability Specialist, AltaLink
Energy Tour Host (Saturday 1:15-4:15 pm)
David is AltaLink’s Corporate Sustainability Specialist, working to ensure his company - one of Alberta’s largest electricity transmission companies - develops energy infrastructure in Alberta in a responsible fashion.
David is also the Past President of Inside Education, has participated in previous Generate Youth Summits, numerous teacher professional development programs both in his role at AltaLink at previously at the Canadian Wind Energy Association (now Canadian Renewable Energy Association).
