Lisa Dryden, Environmental Innovation and Research Advisor with Vertex Resource Group Ltd., holds a BSc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences, majoring in Land Reclamation from the University of Alberta, and a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) Designation in Alberta. She started her career as an Environmental Scientist where she consulted on remediation and reclamation projects for upstream oil and gas.
Also working in the non-profit world, she fostered relationships that promoted an industry association and the environment industry with other industry sectors and levels of government. Lisa currently works in Research and Development at Vertex Resource Group Ltd., focusing on managing and expanding projects that better the environment industry and promotes the company’s long-term success.
Candice Paton | Executive Director, Regulatory Affairs & External Relations, Enhance Energy

Candice is the Executive Director for Regulatory Affairs & External Relations at Enhance Energy, an Alberta-based carbon utilization and storage company with extensive experience in the planning and implementation of large-scale carbon capture and utilization projects (CCS) that permanently sequester CO2 emissions. She has over 15 years of experience in technology development and innovation in energy systems.
She holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering. She is registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA and is an Ambassador with the Energy Futures Lab. She has been recognized as a leading female innovator as part of the Alberta Chapter of SHEInnovates and as an energy industry influencer in the Young Women in Energy 2020 awards.
Candice is passionate about energy technologies, environmental performance and impact in communities. Her family feels at home in Edmonton and Calgary and spends as much of their free time as possible exploring mountains by foot, by ski or by snowboard.
Lisa Pollio | Program Manager, Careers in Energy (Energy Safety Canada)

Lisa joined Energy Safety Canada (ESC) as a Program Manager in 2013, after six years of working in the oil sands region of Fort McMurray. Lisa learned valuable field experience as a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor and then transitioned to a Disability Management role. This hands-on knowledge allowed her to obtain the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
Being part of the Training and Industry Development and Support teams at ESC has enabled Lisa to bring her expertise of our sector to the Careers in Energy group. An adventurer at heart, Lisa loves spending her free time in the mountains or travelling to different parts of the world with her family.

Winona is Anishinaabe from Treaty 4 territory in Manitoba, currently living on Treaty 7 territory in Calgary, Alberta. She lives out her passion for the environment, lifelong learning, and humanity through storytelling, philanthropy, and Indigenous ‘Ways of Living and Being’. She is recognized for championing diversity and inclusion in all aspects of her role as Project Manager with the National Energy Business Centre of Excellence (Indian Resources Council) and her entrepreneurial pursuits as owner of Indigenous Innovative Solutions Inc.
Winona holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Sciences from the University of Manitoba, a Project Management Certificate from Simon Fraser University and is currently working on a number of national and international energy projects. Her vision for a greener planet continues with her work in Rwanda, Africa where she is empowering women and youth in the shaping of a more sustainable future.
She attributes her success to the strong connection she has with her culture which has led her to various partnerships with Ducks Unlimited, Project Forest, Clean Resource Innovative Network, Eco Canada, Rotary Club Calgary North and more recently as a Fellowship member with Energy Futures Lab.
