Mining in Alberta Education Program – Edmonton

It’s time to dig deeper into a topic that is shaping the Alberta landscape above and below ground. From bitumen, gravel, limestone, and gemstones, mining is a big industry in Alberta and one many of us don’t know much about.
Inside Education has a unique opportunity for you to develop awareness and understanding of the role of Alberta’s mining sector in the economy, environment, and society. You will leave with information, experiences, a network of experts, photos, and resources to bring meaning to this topic in your classroom.
Suitable for teachers grade 3-12 with curricular connections to science, social studies, and CTF/CTS.

If you are a successful applicant, Inside Education will provide you with a full scholarship to attend the program. All program costs including facility tours, workshops and meals are included in the scholarship. Note – all successful applicants will be expected to participate in the entire program.
Teachers from across Alberta are welcome to apply – If required a small travel stipend and a supply teacher subsidy are available.
