When your students think about pursuing a career in the forest do they think this about this?
- Over 57,000 Albertans are employed directly or indirectly in the Forest Sector
- Alberta predicts a shortage of 49,000 skilled workers by 2025.
- A forestry degree could lead to a career as an environmental management assessing climate change impacts and watersheds, or as a GIS Analyst that uses drones and high tech mapping equipment to map and understand wildfire/forest pests & disease.
Join Inside Education on the 2018 Forest Careers Program to gain insight to this dynamic, innovative and in-demand sector. You will experience the forest and the forest industry in a way that will allow you to share career opportunities that will be available to students today and tomorrow.
This two-day program will see the forest through the trees as we explore the education requirements, salary and future opportunities that cover everything from the skilled labourer to the professional. We will give you the tools you need to speak confidently about opportunities in the sector to help your students assess if it’s worth a walk in the woods.
This program is designed for career counselors, teachers, and administrators from across Alberta. You will meet with experts, participate in tours and gain day-in-the-life experiences that will give you knowledge and resources that you can share with your students.
Get behind the scenes information, insights and experiences you can’t get online!
If you are a successful applicant, Inside Education will provide you with a full scholarship to attend the program.
