Energy & Water Education Program
July 3 – 7 , 2018
Traveling program in Northern Alberta
*The program will start and end in Edmonton
Join Inside Education on a journey through the northern Alberta water and energy landscape. Energy and water are intertwined in so many ways in our province, so this program will examine these connections by exploring topics such as: oil sands & in situ energy extraction, watershed science, cumulative environmental effects, traditional knowledge, innovations and technology, climate change and more!
Come learn from the professionals working on building environmental stewardship in our province, and visit the places where the work is being done! The program will be a mix of presentations, conversations, and behind-the-scenes tours, including in situ oil extraction facilities and the Fort McMurray oil sands! We will travel through 3 different watersheds over the course of this program, and we will dive deeper into the topics of interest in the Athabasca watershed.
You will leave the program with:
– a deeper understanding and balanced perspective of current and emerging environmental topics
- network of like-minded educators
- a toolbox full of learning resources to bring the topic to life in your classroom
– memories to last a life time!
