How do I claim the supply teacher subsidy?

You’ll find all the details about what is covered and how to claim the subsidy in our Supply Teacher Subsidy Policy.

How do I get in touch with Inside Education after the program has started?

You can reach the main Inside Education office at 1-888-421-1497 and they can connect you with the team that is leading the program. If it is outside of regular office hours please call or text Kathryn Wagner – 403-803-8881.

What forms will I need to sign?

Inside Education values safe programs above all else. We make every effort to ensure a safe environment for all program participants, staff and guests.

Safety Mandate

No Inside Education program will put any student, teacher, participant, staff member at risk of serious injury.

On the first day of any Inside Education PD program, we will ask you to acknowledge that you are aware of the potential hazards and our risk management measures as well as sign a photo release form. Take a few moments to review these documents before the start of the program. We will have hard copies on hand for you to sign during registration. 

CURRENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Grasslands Professional Development Program – May 31-June 2, 2018

Congratulations on your acceptance to Inside Education’s Grasslands Education Professional Development Program. Here are all the details you need to help you start planning for this one-of-a-kind learning adventure that will inspire your lessons!

The program run from 10am on Thursday May 31 – ~3pm on Friday June 2. We will start and end at Ralph Klein Park in Calgary – map

1. Confirm your attendance: Please complete the participant details form to confirm your attendance to the program. This form must be completed by Monday May 14, 2018.

2.  Accommodations: We will be staying at the Days Inn in Brooks on May 31 and the Lethbridge Travelodge on June 1. Rooms are same gender double occupancy. If you know someone else on the program you can request your roommate on the details form.

3. Travel: Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from Ralph Klein Park in Calgary. Vehicles may be left at your own risk at Ralph Klein Park for the duration of the program.

Carpooling – if you are interested in sharing the travel with another participant please let us know and we will put you in touch prior to the program.

4. Supply Teacher Subsidy: If you require a supply teacher for the dates you will be away Inside Education can provide a supply teacher subsidy to help offset the cost. Please have your administration submit an invoice upon completion of the program.

Eligible subsidy = Thursday May 31 – $150 Friday June 1 – $150  = $300

5. Food: Also an important item! Inside Education will provide all meals starting with lunch on Thursday through to and including lunch on Saturday. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, please indicate your food preferences on the participant details form.

6. The Program: We are busy working with some amazing experts in the region to ensure the program provides a comprehensive look at Alberta’s Grassland Region. We have booked the bus, hotels and speakers and you can check out the program overview here: Grasslands_Program Overview.

Travel & Supply Teacher Subsidy

If you traveled  >300km from Edmonton we can provide a travel subsidy.

  • Travel more than 300km one-way can receive a maximum of $300 towards the cost of a flight or $0.15/km if you prefer to drive yourself.  Please note: those that claim the travel subsidy are not eligible for the supply teacher subsidy.
  • Carpooling – we have had several people interested in carpooling from Calgary – if you would like to arrange travel with other participants please contact Jill Swingler and you will be put in touch with others who have expressed interest in carpooling. We can reimburse $0.15/km/person to encourage this option.

Inside Education will cover the actual cost of your airline tickets, up to $400. COSIA Oil Sands Innovation Summit, March 21 - 22, 2017

COSIA’s Oil Sands Innovation Summit

Thank you so much to the high school teachers who joined us at the Oil Sands Innovation Summit. Hosted by COSIA, Alberta Innovates and Natural Resources Canada, this exciting two-day Summit put the spotlight on how innovators from industry, research, government, academia, and the service and technology sectors from around the globe are improving the environmental performance of Canada’s oil sands.
