What about program safety?

Inside Education values safe programs above all else. We make every effort to ensure a safe environment for all program participants, staff and guests.

Safety Mandate

Inside Education values safe program delivery above all else. No Inside Education program will put any student, teacher, participant, staff member at risk of serious injury.

On the first day of any Inside Education PD program, we will ask you to acknowledge that you are aware of the potential hazards and our risk management measures as well as sign a photo release form. We thought you might like to take a few moments to review these documents before the start of the program.

Current Programs
Boreal Education Program, October 1-3, 2015

Congratulations on your acceptance to Inside Education’s Boreal Education Professional Development Program. Here are all the details you need to help you start planning for this one-of-a-kind learning adventure that will transform your classroom!

The program will start and end at the Enjoy Centre, 101 Riel Drive, St. Albert map

1. Confirm your attendance:

Please complete the participant details form to confirm your attendance to the program. This form must be completed by Monday September 21, 2015.

2.  Accommodations:

We will be staying at the Kanata Inn in Whitecourt on October 1 & 2. Rooms are same gender double occupancy. If you know someone else on the program you can request your roommate on the details form.

3. Travel:

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from St. Albert. Vehicles may be left at your own risk at the Enjoy Centre for the duration of the program.

Carpooling – we have had several people interested in carpooling from Calgary – if you would like to arrange travel with other participants please email kwagner@insideeducation.ca and you will be put in touch with others who have expressed interest.

4. Supply Teacher Subsidy

If you require a supply teacher for the dates you will be away Inside Education can provide a supply teacher subsidy to help offset the cost. Please have your administration submit an invoice upon completion of the program.

Thursday October 1 – $150 (full day) for participants traveling >100 km to program start location / $75 (half day)  for participants from Edmonton Area.

Friday October 2 – $150 for all participants

5. Food

Also an important item! Inside Education will provide all meals starting with lunch on Thursday through to and including lunch on Saturday. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, please indicate your food preferences on the participant details form.

6. The Program

We are busy working with some amazing experts in the region to ensure the program provides a comprehensive look at Alberta Boreal Region. We have booked the bus, hotels and speakers  – check out the program Boreal Education Program schedule.

Western Canada Oil Sands Careers Program - October 18-21, 2015

Congratulations on your acceptance to Inside Education’s Western Canada Oil Sands Careers Education Professional Development Program! Here are all the details you need to help you start planning for this one-of-a-kind learning adventure that will enrich your classes and student career development!

Program start: The Sawridge Inn, Fort McMurray (530 MacKenzie Blvd, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 4C4)  at 6:00pm Sunday, October 18 (map)

Program end: end at Portage College, Lac La Biche at 12:00pm Wednesday, October 21 (our coach bus will drop off participants at Edmonton International Airport at approximately 3:00pm Wednesday, October 21). 

1. Confirm your attendance:

Please complete the participant details form to confirm your attendance to the program. This form must be completed by Thursday, October 1, 2015.

2.  Accommodations:

We will be staying at the Sawridge Inn in Fort McMurray on October 18 & 19. Rooms are same gender double occupancy. If you know someone else on the program you can request your roommate on the details form.

On October 20, we will be staying at a work camp near Conklin. Rooms at the camp are single occupancy. 

3. Travel:

Participants are responsible for arranging their own flights. Please note that this means flights TO Fort McMurray on Sunday, October 18, and flights FROM Edmonton* on Wednesday, October 21. 

*Participants will be dropped off at the Edmonton International Airport on Wednesday, October 21 at approximately 3:00pm. 

Inside Education is pleased to offer a reimbursement to support your travel, up to $600 per participant. Receipts must be provided and subsidy claims must be submitted within 1 month of program completion. Download the subsidy form – Inside Education PD Flights Subsidy Form_2015

4. Food

5. The Program

We are busy working with some amazing experts in the region to ensure the program provides a comprehensive look at the variety of careers in the oil sands region of Alberta. We have booked the bus, hotels, tours, and speakers  – stay tuned to PD Corner for the detailed program, coming soon! 

6. The Election

Back in May when we set the program date we had no idea the program would overlap with the Federal election. We encourage you to participate in the democratic process and have your voice heard by heading to the polls early – advance polls are open October 9-12; learn more by visiting Elections Canada.


Alternative & Renewable Energy Education Program • May 21-23, 2015

Thank you to the amazing teachers that were part of Inside Education’s Alternative and Renewable Energy Program. It was a whirlwind tour (pun intended) that showcased the connection between our energy resources, electricity and the role of energy efficiency and sustainable communities.
