Professional development is a necessary and ongoing component of your education. Each year over 800 teachers attend our no-cost programs to enhance their lessons and increase their understanding of natural resource and environment topics. Now there’s a program just for you and it’s all about one of the most discussed topics that appears throughout the program of studies – ENERGY!

 

On this program you will…

  • Examine Alberta’s oil and gas industry

  • Tour innovative projects and facilities

  • Learn how energy conservation and efficiency are shaping today's classrooms

  • Meet with experts in the fields of energy and education

  • Network with your future colleagues from across the province

  • Have a great all-expenses-paid day in the field

  • Attend the Environmental Literacy Dinner to hear from keynote speaker Kali Taylor founder of Student Energy and self professed "energy and environemnt junkie". and learn from practicing teachers, principals and district administrators

  • Gain valuable ideas, insights and experiences to share with future students and employers

The program is open to all beginning teachers and education students currently enrolled in post-secondary institutions across Alberta. All food, travel and tours will be covered on the program. For participants having to travel distances greater than 300km Inside Education will subsidize the cost of transportation (a bus ticket  or $0.15/km in your own vehicle) and provide hotel accomodations on Wednesday Nov. 7 and Thursday Nov. 8, if required. Travel costs will be reimbursed upon completion of the program.
